    Year of production: 2014 Running Time: 4:00 min
    Justin Gloudemans used his independent study to explore the 'finer details" of life. In this very unique series of videos, Justin wondered what others did to escape the pressures of life, the hectic pace and unending busy-ness. This collection of "finer details" became a series of short videos. In this one, Chris's daily coffee ritual is his finer detail. it helps him stay grounded, get some composure back to his life.

    GRACE Days (Gifts Received from Alumni and donors for Christian Education) is an annual event on the campus of Dordt College where the community comes together to very intentionally say "Thanks" to the awesome donors, alumni and others who support Dordt College and make this world-class education affordable. Megan Kaiser and Daryl Buinsma worked together to create this little gem.

    2014 was the 8th annual Prairie Grass Film Challenge. This ad, created by Nathan Walter, Emily Holz and Jordan Shaffer, encouraged teams to enter and compete. The ad aired across the midwest on channels as diverse as Discovery Channel, The Food Network, NBC, FOX and many more.

  • "Anti-Social"--4 Students. 3 Weeks. No Social Networks
    Year of production: 2014 Running Time: 10 min
    Daryl Bruinsma and Jordan Schaffer created this delightful documentary that follows four students as they give up all social media for a three-week block. They do so with varying degrees of success but the filmmakers--and the viewers--learn something in the process.

    Karin Heitzman and Jared Luttjeboer created this documentary on blood moons and celestial signs for the class, "Documentary Film Making," an upper-level class.

    David Mahlum and Drew Johnson made this documentary on poverty in America for the "Documentary Film Making" class. They highlight some interesting things happening right here in the Midwest to combat poverty wherever it's found.

    Interstates, a large engineering and construction firm right here in Sioux Center, IA, hired Cady Millage and Matt Bonnema to produce this short promo piece showing work Interstates can do for churches throughout the region

    This rather creepy character seems to fool everyone--even his girlfriend! Michael Hilt, Kendra Reitsma and Bradley Hoogheim produced this for Comm 250: Intro to Film/Video Production.

    Andrea Kreykes took a challenge: If she could make an INTERESTING documentary about paint, she could make anything interesting! You be the judge. She was assisted by Ben Groenendyke in this independent project. (April 2011)

    Every year, thousands of college-age students travel to the United States to attend college, and every year, those same students have to learn to negotiate a brand new culture. Many do it with a sense of humor and good will. For others, it can be quite frustrating. But what can American college and university students do to ease the way a bit, make the transition easier for our non-American friends? In this video, Dordt College students ask those questions, and uncover some surprising answers.
